Chemical analysis, optical emission spectrometry (OES)
The spectro analysis is used to measure what elements are present in the metal. Atoms are excited due to sparking from an electrode. These atoms then emit electromagnetic radiation in the form of photons. A spectrometer measures the released photons, which differ in number and frequency for each element. This measurement can then be used to determine the quantity of specific atoms in a material. This method can also be used to calculate the carbon equivalent. This equivalent gives an indication of the weldability of the tested metal.
We measure and interpret the results using modern software.
The results of the chemical analysis provide information for use in the following sectors:
Together we get the best out of steel.
